REMOVAL OF SKIN TAGS AND WARTS
Many people develop small skin tags around their neck, under their arm or elsewhere with time. They are not dangerous but can be inconvenient when they catch on clothing. If they are a problem they can be removed easily under a local anaesthetic. Other options are gentle freezing or using gentle heat (cautery) to remove them.
Warts, which can occur anywhere but are most common on the hands and feet, are caused by human papilloma virus. If left alone for sufficient time, they eventually resolve once the body becomes immune to them. Until that time however they can be unsightly and inconvenient.
Wart removal treatment options include softening gels, such as salicylic acid, which can be bought over the counter. If this is not sufficient then freezing with liquid nitrogen on a regular basis can be an effective wart removal treatment. If this is not effective, then laser treatment and/or an immune stimulating cream can be helpful in wart removal.
